PC Starz Preparing for Winter Showcase
Out PC Starz teams are diligently preparing for our Winter Showcase on December 3rd, 2011 at 2pm. The Winter Showcase will be held at Raymond S. Kellis High School and will feature our PC Starz teams, as well as, the Anthem Community Center Starz teams and our PC High School teams. It is a show you won’t want to miss! Boulder Creek at USA Regionals

Lisa Colgan: Lisa Colgan is originally from Maple Grove, Minnesota until she moved to the Valley of the Sun her junior year in high school and eventually graduated from Horizon High School. Following high school, Lisa attended Arizona State University and received degrees in education at the both the bachelor’s and master’s levels. Lisa has experience as a competitive dancer as well as 8 years of coaching cheer and Spiritline at both the junior and high school levels. As a math teacher, Lisa is enjoying her 15th year in the field of education, her 5th at the high school level. Lisa has two beautiful children, her son Colby is a freshman at Boulder Creek and her daughter, Tyler is in 7th grade and will attend Boulder Creek.
Jessica Brubaker: Jessica Brubaker was raised in Phoenix and grew up in the Paradise Valley school district, graduating from North Canyon High School. After high school, Jessica attended the University of Arizona and received her bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. She currently attends Grand Canyon University as a student in the Master in Counseling program. Jessica is in her 7th year of teaching Child Development and her 5th full year of coaching.

Senior Bios
Kelsey Duran is a 3 year Spiritline member, 2 years on varsity. After high school, she plans to attend PVCC and ASU. Kelsey has contributed to BC Spiritline stunting in the position of backspot. She says her favorite memory is hiding from the coaches as a practical joke.
Tara Fanning is a 1 year Spiritline member, 1 year on varsity. After high school, she plans to attend ASU for elementary education. Tara’s contribution to Spiritline’s stunting ability has been in the position of backspot. Her favorite memory is having a dance party in the dance room following a football game cancellation due to excessive lightening.
Emma Grigsby is a 2 year Spiritline member, 1 year on varsity. After high school, she plans to attend Yavapai or NAU. Emma contributes to BC Spiritline’s stunting as both a secondary and main base. Her best memory from Spiritline is creating new friendships and gaining confidence she lacked before.
Katie Herring is a 4 year Spiritline member, 3 years on Varsity. After high school, she plans attend U of A to pursue a degree in psychology. Katie’s contribution to stunting at Boulder Creek is as a backspot (extraordinaire-her words). Her favorite memory from BC Spiritline is traveling to Wells Fargo Arena and cheering the Boys Basketball team on to a 5AII State Championship in 2010.
Kaitlyn Wilson is a 3 year Spiritline member, and 3 years on varsity. . After high school, she plans to attend PVCC and U of A. Kaitlyn’s contribution to stunting at Boulder Creek is as a Secondary and Main Base.
Captain- Ali Lapolla is a 4 year Spiritline member, 4 years on Varsity. After high school, she plans to attend U of A. Ali has contributed to Spiritline as a flyer and a base. Her favorite memory from Spiritline was when they were State Runners Up in the Show Cheer division at AIA state in 2009.
Captain- Olivia Smith is a 4 year Spiritline member, 3 years on varsity. After high school, she plans to attend U of A. Olivia has contributed to Spiritline as a (secondary) base. Her favorite memory from Spiritline was when they get ready before completion, and the environment of the competition with her team.
Captain- Ashlee Taylor is a 4 year Spiritline member, 3 years on varsity. After high school, she plans to attend U of A, in the medical field. Ashlee has contributed to the team as a Flyer. Ashlee’s favorite memory of Spiritline was placing 3rd in state in All Girls Stunt and being able to cheer with her sister Taylor.
Captain- Krista Young is a 4 year Spiritline member, 4 years on Varsity. After high school, she plans to attend Stanford and major in Computer Science. Krista is a main base at BCHS and is taking flyer classes. Her favorite memory from Spiritline was meeting people with the same passion as her, and being a role model for younger girls.
Competition Season Around the Corner
Competition is right around the corner! Today was a busy day with Kellis Pom, Millennium Varsity and Cheer JV, Millennium Pom, Millennium Partner Stunt, Verrado Varsity and JV Cheer, Verrado Varsity Pom and Verrado All-Girl Stunt! I am so excited to see how these teams are going to bring the heat at competition this season. Hard work and dedication to your team and effective practices can really go a long way! I love it when I see the teams making big strides!

PeoriaCheerz has wasted no time getting started this year! The program has truly exploded, reaching out to 7 high school, middle school and private schools around the valley. PeoriaCheerz is not limited to Peoria anymore; the range of cities includes Goodyear, Casa Grande and Anthem, Arizona. Our staff is tripled in three months, as well as, facilities doubling and number of students growing exponentially. This is the place to be if you want to take your cheerleading and dancing to the next level. Whether you are a high school program or wanting your child to get involved for the first time, PeoriaCheerz has something for everyone. Keep posted for more updates!
